Title: Assistant/Associate Professor in Agricultural and Resource Economics
Specialization: Agricultural Business Management
Appointment: Nine-month, tenure-track appointment, anticipated start date August 15, 2018
The candidate chosen for this position is expected to develop a nationally and internationally recognized research and teaching program focused on agricultural business management. Possible expertise includes, but is not limited to, agricultural production systems, agricultural finance and risk management, industrial organization, supply-chain management, food marketing, consumer economics, and agricultural and food policy.
This is a research and teaching position. The successful candidate will also participate in outreach and engagement commensurate with his/her rank and experience. Teaching responsibilities may include undergraduate and graduate courses. The candidate is expected to lead collaboration with other departments, and engage with government agencies, industry and other stakeholders. Evidence of successful scholarship and publication in peer-reviewed journals, the ability to attract extramural funding, and a successful history of graduate students’ mentorship appropriate to the individual’s rank are preferred.

• Ph.D. in agricultural economics, economics, or related field completed by start date.
• Specialization and/or strong interest in developing research and teaching programs in a topic area related to agricultural business management.
• Evidence of research productivity, commensurate to rank.
• Demonstrated ability and/or interest in teaching and advising in a topic area relevant to agricultural business management at the graduate and/or undergraduate level.
• Demonstrated ability and/or commitment to pursue contract and grant funding, including support to graduate students.
• Evidence of, or interest to engage in, outreach activities.
• Ability to advance the department’s commitment to diversity and inclusion through research, teaching, and outreach with relevant programs, goals, and activities.
