Welcome to the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics

The Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics (DARE) was established at Colorado State University in 1983. We are actively involved in teaching, research and extension. Our faculty of 16, plus 3 special assistant professor appointments, have broad experience in agricultural production, marketing, agricultural business, finance, labor, cooperatives, policy, resource management, and environmental policy. Overall, our faculty have worked in over 50 countries across the globe. In addition, our department was recently ranked #1 in the country according to the 2005 Faculty Scholarly Productivity Index!

I invite you to browse through our web pages. We have designed this site to make it easy for you to discover what we have to offer in our undergraduate and graduate programs, our research program, and our extension program, and are currently updating the various pages. If you are a current or potential student, we offer information about our faculty, courses, facilities, research, clubs and organizations, as well as general information about admissions, scholarships, and the University, Fort Collins and Colorado. If you are interested in our research and outreach programs, we are currently updating our comprehensive lists of our publications, our research faculty, our extension faculty, and access to on-line research and outreach reports.

Enjoy,

Steve Davies
